So excited to be participating in this awesome festival again! I was there last year for the first time and it was amazing. The Cincinnati library is beautiful! Everyone should check it out. Maybe during Books by the Banks?? :-)
Looking forward to participating in this conference again! I’ll be speaking on the fantasy panel: From Myth to Manuscript, A Fantasy Writer’s Journey, at 3pm!
I’ve done PumpkinFest one other time and we got hit with a torrential downpour! Hoping for less of that this time around! Come see me at the Middle Tennessee Author’s Circle tent! I’ll have copies of Ghost Tamer and A Dagger of Lightning.
I’m thrilled to have Ghost Tamer included in the Author Parade for the Chicago Public Library Awards this year, honoring books with a Chicago Connection. Dean and I have been invited to attend the awards dinner and it will be so nice to say hello to Big Shoulders again for a day while celebrating my “first born” near her second birthday.
I’m so excited to be in the official author lineup for Southern Festival of Books this year! I’ve participated in the festival before as a moderator, a group panelist, and I’ve volunteered and sold books in tents, but this is going to be my first time as a SoFest author and I cannot wait! More details as it develops!
Want to stock up on Spooky Season reads? Come to Bound Booksellers on October 11st! Whether you want a little ghostliness in your romance (Marjorie and Me by Melissa Grace) a light haunting in your speculative mystery (You Shouldn’t Be Here by Lauren Thoman) or some snarky spirit in your paranormal thriller (Ghost Tamer by yours truly) we’ve got something for everyone!
I’ll be celebrating this cute little Tennessee bookstore’s birthday with them! You should come! They have coffee. I’ll be signing copies of A Dagger of Lighting and Ghost Tamer to ease us into Spooky Season. It’s a bookstore birthday! Come be festive!

I’ll be selling copies of Ghost Tamer (which won Killer Nashville’s Silver Falchion Award for Best Book of 2023 last year) and A Dagger of Lightning!
I’ll be participating in the Sip and Sizzle Romance Author’s Reception! Looking forward to checking out another new (to me) conference. New Voices New Rooms is theNVNR Annual Convference and Tradeshow for booksellers members of both NAIBA and SIBA.
This session will focus on getting past stuck points, boosting each other for inspiration, and bouncing ideas off each other to jumpstart your writing.
I’ll be signing copies of A Dagger of Lightning and Ghost Tamer in Chattanooga at their beautiful Barnes & Noble! I’ll have character art for those who grab a book.. Come see me!
Throwing magic into your fictional world can seem deceptively simple. Want something to work a certain way? It's magic! Need characters to get quickly from one place to another? Use magic! But haphazard magic with no rhyme or reason leaves a lot of room for a frustrated reader. Let's build a magic system that works for your world that your readers will understand. Are you creating your version of The Force or do you just have a group of psychics operating in New York City? Whether you're adding a touch of magic into the real world or creating an entirely new universe, your magic system should work for you.
Looking forward to hanging out with local authors at the Bill Peach Book Festival! I’ll be sitting on the Ghost Panel at 3pm and both moderating and participating in the Fantasy Panel at 4pm! The event starts at 10am with panels throughout the day!

It's common to deal with anxiety or depression in today's world, sometimes even both! As upsetting as it can be to have something you're struggling with affect an activity you love—like your writing—the reality is, brain chemistry does matter. The good news is that you can find ways to keep writing and enjoy it. In this class we'll discuss some reasons why the way you wrote at your baseline may be different than how you'll write when anxiety or depression spikes. We'll discuss different methods to try to keep writing through it, or ways to determine when and if a break from writing is appropriate and what you can use that time for instead so that you come out inspired and ready to go. While geared toward fiction writers, the things we'll discuss could benefit those working on non-fiction, memoir, and poetry.
